Interview with Beauty Bloggers

I decided to feature a few special guests on my blog today! The first guest is Lily from Covetluxe. She has a beautiful blog which you should definitely check out and give her some love! 💓

My second special guest is Bella who is over at Bellainizio. Her blog is gorgeous so you should go check her out also! Bella' answers are in pink so you can tell the difference between the 2 bloggers :)

So, I wanted to interview another beauty blogger because I wanted to take an insight into why other girls have decided to make a blog. So here goes...

1. What's your name and how old are you?

I’m known as Lily and this is what everyone calls me, but my actual name is Elizabeth and I’m 20 years old!

My name is Bella, and I’m 24 years old.

2. How long have you had a blog for?

I’ve had my blog Covet Luxe since June, so not long at all! However, I used free WordPress since January on and off. But I’ve been properly blogging since June.   

I started my blog on Wordpress in March and moved to my self-hosted site at the end of May – so not long!

3. What inspired you to start a blog?

I’ve always been watching and reading blogs/vlogs for years and I just thought why don’t I have my own platform to share my opinions. And as a new year’s resolution I decided to blog. 

I’ve always loved to read blogs, and I’m a girly girl through and through – so I wanted a platform to voice my opinions and to meet some likeminded people.

4. What do you like to blog about?

 I really enjoy blogging about beauty, especially testing out skincare and playing around with new makeup. However, fashion and food are two other areas I like to dibble dabble in.

Makeup, beauty, lifestyle and my thoughts and experiences on certain topics. A girly diary really!

5. What advice would you give to new bloggers?

I would say go self-hosted, it’s a small investment which makes you appear 10x more professional and you have freedom to create and do whatever you want. 

Don’t get bogged down by numbers, if you’re happy with what you’re creating then that’s fabulous. And that passion will shine through, and will make you unique.

6. What do you think is the most important part of a blog? Pictures, blogger, writing etc
I would say the most important part of a blog is the passion. If you don’t have passion about what you’re writing, then that will show through all of your content.

I think it’s all important, obviously your content should be fun and engaging to read with a purpose. And I strongly believe that your pictures are key to tying your whole post together, and really giving it a personal touch. It’s a great way to develop your personal blogging style.

7. Have you worked with any brands?

I’ve worked with 6+ brands now, which I’m so happy about! From small independent brands to ones you’d find in the drugstore. 

I have actually, I’m a Botanics brand ambassador, I’ve also worked with Technic Cosmetics, Just Smile UK and Indy Luxe makeup brushes – all of which have been so incredibly exciting!

8. Do you charge for sponsored content?

I’ve charged a brand once, and that was my most recent collaboration. However, I’m still happy to review products for free as I see the products as the payment. 

So far I haven’t no, but I think maybe a little bit down the line and dependant on what the collaboration entails. In all honesty I wouldn’t know what to charge!

9. What's the best thing about the blogging community in your opinion?

The support! I have such supportive blogger friends, who answer my questions, and are there for me no matter what.

There is a lot of support which I love, the majority of the blogging community only want to see you flourish and do amazing things! And of course being around so many creatives is so inspiring which I adore.
