Eau Thermale Avene

* Eau Thermale Avene is a French skincare brand that claims to be really good for sensitive skin. Being a sufferer of sensitive skin myself, their brand really appealed to me. I researched a lot about their company and found out that they didn't test on animals which to me is always a plus. After a conversation over email I was sent a selection of their products to try. I found they were very friendly to work with and they ensured that they knew my skin type before they sent out any products.

Right, now on to the actual products themselves...

They sent me a 5ml 'Soothing moisture mask' and 'Hydrating serum'. They sent 25ml samples of the 'Gentle toner' and 'Gentle milk cleanser' and then 2 sachets of their 'Light hydrating cream' at 2ml (one containing SPF).
I'll start with the 'Soothing moisture mask'. It claims to be rich and creamy in texture which I have to say I agree with. It also claims to help restore suppleness and hydration in dehydrated skin. Now, I've used this product for quite a while now and at first I really didn't feel like it was doing anything for my skin but after a few uses I was completely amazed! It has a really nice cooling effect on the skin upon application and my skin looked healthy and glowing when I woke up in the morning, after having it on overnight. The instructions on the website say you should leave it on for 10-15 minutes but I found that the product worked nicer when left on overnight. The only thing I didn't like was that it is quite expensive for only 50ml of product retailing at £11.50 in my local boots.
Secondly, I'll move on to the 'Hydrating Serum'. This is definitely my favourite product in their range!  It is not too thick and not too oily which I find is the problem with a lot of serums and it sits on your skin for a while before it's absorbed which I think really makes this product stand out from other serums I've tried. I feel as if the serum is really working it's magic and making my skin feel hydrated. However, it can be a bit of a problem if you're looking for a serum to use before you apply your makeup as you may have to wait a while for the product to sink in. My skin is extremely dry and quite sensitive and I found that this product doesn't irritate my skin at all. I prefer to apply this at night and when I'm having a makeup-free day (which is quite often).
The 'Gentle Toner' and 'Gentle milk cleanser' were the largest samples I received. They had a pleasant smell which surprised me as the other products had no scent. Although they had a fragrance I found that they didn't irritate my skin at all. The milk cleanser did a really good job at removing my makeup and any traces that weren't removed by the cleanser were definitely removed by the toner.
I only received very small samples of this cream so I can't really say too much about this. However, it was really creamy and it left a sort-of matte finish on my skin, which I don't really opt for but it was a nice change.
Overall, I am very impressed with the Eau Thermale Avene brand and would love to try out more of their products! They are available to purchase in a number of shops but I found that my local Boots was just fine!
